Jason is a member of the Centre for Economic Research on Inclusivity and Sustainability, which aims to conduct high quality economic research that helps to develop a more inclusive society and a sustainable environment for all. His teaching includes introducing students to current methodologies and techniques in financial econometrics, time series analysis and financial data analytics.

Jason, with colleagues at the Economic and Social Research Institute (ESRI), was awarded €812,406 in Sustainable Energy Authority of Ireland (SEAI) funding for their project entitled: Maximising the Flexibility of Energy Consumption in Ireland (FlexECon).

Teaching
EC5116 Global Issues in Agricultural, Marine and Renewable Energy Economics Lecture on Energy Demand Side Management. This module applies economic theory and models to understand and evaluate a wide range of problems and issues related to agriculture, marine and renewable energy. This course focuses on contemporary issues and topics will vary from year to year. The course has a global emphasis using case studies and material from both developed and developing countries.

EC2101 Macroeconomics and the Business Environment This is an intermediate macroeconomics module dealing with the theory and practice of macroeconomics. It builds upon the concepts and principles covered in the principles of macroeconomics. The objective of the module is to understand the core models in short-run macroeconomic theory and to learn how these theories can be applied to the business environment and various short-run policy issues, both domestically (Ireland) and in an international (EU/eurozone) setting.

Engagement
Jason was based at the Economic & Social Research Institute (ESRI) from June 2017 to August 2018 in the Collaborative Research of Decentralisation, Electrification, Communications and Economics (CREDENCE) project. He has worked as a visiting research scholar in the Department of Agricultural and Resource Economics at the University of California, Berkeley.
